About Us
Hi, I'm Rebecca!
It's great to have you stop by! For me, a life lived creatively is a life well-lived. That's a philosophy that has guided me through my professional journey—whether I'm meticulously restoring a priceless family photo or custom-fitting a bridal gown.

The Genesis of Legacy Imaging LLC
My photographic journey began way back in 1991 when I started my four-year degree in photography. Over the years, I've always been dedicated to keeping up with the latest trends and techniques, but something else soon became just as important: preservation.
I often had clients asking me to help them save their old, one-of-a-kind photographs, and that's how restoration photography quickly became my passion. I'll never forget the moment a friend discovered the only photograph of her eight children, severely damaged and crumpled up in her attic. The sheer joy on her face when she received the fully restored picture is the emotion I strive to recreate for every single client.
To perfect this art, I trained in both traditional and digital restoration techniques. I then spent nine years gaining technical experience at the Carol Studios of Photography, managing their digital department and working as a senior digital artist, which also gave me a deep appreciation for fine portrait photography.
With all that experience and a clear creative vision, I took the leap and founded Legacy Imaging LLC in 2000. Since then, legacyImaging has provided customized services to a variety of incredible clients, including Northwestern Community Hospital, The Tootsie Roll Corporation, and countless private individuals.

And Then There Were Alterations...
Even with the success of legacyImaging, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was a whole world of people out there who needed help with different, but equally important, legacy items.
Growing up, sewing was a big part of my life, but as an adult, I noticed fewer and fewer people knew even how to sew on a button! Offering this skill felt like a challenging, but important, next step.
So, in 2010, Alterations by Rebecca was born! Now I have the pleasure of working on truly unique pieces: couture bridal alterations, costumes, and precious christening & baptismal gowns and accessories. It's all about helping you create and cherish something unique to look back on!
Always Creating, Always Learning
Being creative is just hardwired into my DNA! By the time I was 14, I had already tackled a ton of projects, from painting figurines to making doll clothes. I even spent 14 years in the Girl Scouts, where I tried my hand at everything I could and gained the confidence to keep finding new things to explore.
Even now, my passion for new projects hasn't stopped! College brought me photography, airbrushing, and graphic design, but working at a local arts and crafts store exposed me to even more. These days, life as a homeowner and a mom means learning varied skills—like the time I built a huge backyard movie screen (with grandpa's help on the giant subwoofers!) just because my kiddos asked for a movie night.

Whether I'm setting up an outdoor cinema or preserving a piece of family history, my hands are always busy. I'm here to put that passion, experience, and attention to detail to work for you!
